I have a large family and I’m an aunt to seven nieces and nephews of varying ages, but at the time I began this project, quite a few of them were very young. They inspired me to make my first teddy bear.

My take on the teddy bear is that it doesn’t have to be fuzzy and brown with eyes and a nose. By keeping my bears simple and monochromatic or with one repeating pattern throughout, they can be more than something to hug or play with. They can become a piece of decor in your home.

It also just speaks to my personal style and obsession with coordinates in clothing and repeating patterns in interior design.

It has been so much fun making these bears, and I hope that you’ll enjoy them.
